On October 22, 2025, your Tebra account will be upgraded to the latest version. Features will be available the following day with the exception of specified timelines.

Billing

Virtual Card Payments

Virtual cards are a payment method for insurance companies, health plans, and third-party payment vendors to issue payments to practices for patient services. Patient Collect (Stripe) activated practices can now use the Virtual Card feature to securely deposit virtual card payments into the bank account designated for their Stripe payouts.

Process Virtual Card Payment

  1. Hover over the Billing icon and select Virtual Card. The Virtual Card Payment page opens.
  2. Enter the Payment Amount.
  3. Enter the Card Number, Expiration Date, and CVV code.
  4. Click Process Transaction when finished. The Payment Receipt page opens.
Note: The virtual card payment displays in the Stripe Dashboard under the Payments section of the Transactions and does not transfer to the Desktop Application (PM) as an unapplied insurance payment. If applicable, enter an insurance payment in the Desktop Application (PM) to manually apply payments to the appropriate service lines. To learn how to process virtual card payments in the Desktop Application (PM), review Process Virtual Card Payment.

Clinical

Confidential Notes

Tebra’s Confidential Notes option lets providers safely withhold specific notes from the Patient Portal and CCDA when sharing would risk harm or require clinical context — without disabling transparency across the entire chart. Psychotherapy notes will remain excluded by default; giving providers control for other sensitive documentation to also be excluded.

Mark Confidential Notes

All clinical notes (e.g., new, edit, signed) can be marked as confidential, including custom note types. After the note is marked as confidential, the documentation will be excluded from the Patient Portal and CCDA exports to maintain therapeutic alliance.
  1. Access a clinical note.
  2. Click to select “Mark as Confidential Note”.
  3. Click Save & Close when finished. The note is excluded from the Patient Portal.

eRx: RxInform Medication Adherence

RxInform powered by DrFirst helps providers close the medication adherence gap with zero extra work. When a prescription is submitted, send patients a SMS via RxInform with a link to a HIPAA-compliant portal where they can view prescription details, set reminders, and access educational information about safe use and potential side effects.

Notes:

Feature available by the end of October 2025.

RxInform: Provider Workflow

In addition to the new prescription workflow, RxInform can be sent from the renew medication workflow.
  1. Prescribe a medication and click Send Medication. The New Prescription (Preview) pop-up window opens.
  2. By default, “Send prescription reminder via SMS” is selected.
  3. Click Confirm. The patient receives a text message from RxInform with a link to the portal.

AI Note Assist: Microphone Control

AI Note Assist now includes a microphone control that allows providers to select the appropriate microphone. Providers can now record a short audio clip and verify the playback has sound before starting the visit to prevent a blank or incomplete AI Note.

Test Microphone
  1. Start an AI Note.
  2. Click the microphone control. The Available Devices pop-up window opens.
  3. If applicable, select the appropriate microphone.
  4. Click Test Microphone.
  5. Record a short audio clip and click Stop Recording when finished.
Note: The recording will automatically stop after 15 seconds.
  6. Click Play Recording to verify the microphone recorded sound.
    • If the recording does not have sound, select a different microphone or reach out to the practice's IT staff for further assistance.
  7. Click outside of the pop up window to return to the note.
