How long does SEO take?

Why is SEO not instantaneous?

Getting a practice’s website to the top of search results for a given keyword phrase for Google, Yahoo & Bing is not instantaneous because it takes Google time to crawl and index the information on your site to determine the relevance of your content to the searchers that are looking for it. Search engines also rank websites based on multiple factors, and no one digital marketing method alone will rocket your website up to the top of search results and keep it there indefinitely (source: https://www.treefrog.ca/why-are-seo-...ices-important).

What accounts for variations in performance?

All customers who join Practice Growth receive the same foundation of technology and services, and each practice will see the benefits of joining our platform — however, time-to-results varies from practice to practice. Some practices see an increase in new patients, search engine rankings, and reputation within a three month period, while other practices can take up to 18 months.  So it’s important to understand that you come to Practice Growth with your own unique circumstances and variations, and will reach results on your own unique timeline.

We have found that the three primary reasons for variations are due to pre-existing factors, ongoing best practices, and marketing add-ons.

  1. Pre-existing Factors: One of the biggest reasons for variation in performance is that each practice comes in with different “pre-existing” factors that influence their online marketing and search engine performance. For example, practices who join Practice Growth with a strong online reputation and high search engine rankings may see results faster than practices without any online reviews or poor rankings. Prior to launch, Practice Growth conducted a web audit and health score analysis for you to assess your pre-existing factors.
  2. Ongoing Best Practices: Practices that utilize our Best Practice Recommendations often see results faster. You can find even more details in our What to Expect With Practice Growth guide which is linked here.
  3. Marketing Add-ons: Finally, it’s also important to understand that while the Foundation package provides the fundamental base tools for you to grow organically, Practice Growth offers additional marketing add-ons for practices who want to see more accelerated performance results.

Conclusion

It is important to keep in mind that rankings for a given keyword phrase are important, but how they translate into results (website traffic and new patient leads) are the most important factors. High rankings for a given keyword phrase doesn’t necessarily mean you’re growing your business. It can often take up to one year before you start to see a major impact on your business from your SEO strategy. Keep in mind that when you break through that threshold, however, the overall impact to your business can be long-lasting (source: https://www.convertwithcontent.com/h...t-seo-results/).
