Referring Physician Provider Number Missing

Rejection Details

This rejection indicates the provider's NPI is missing from the referring physician's record and is required on this claim.


Follow the instructions below to add the referring provider NPI:

  1. Click Settings > Other Lists > Find Referring Physicians. The Find Referring Physicians window opens.
  2. Look for and double-click on the referring provider that needs correcting. The Edit Referring Physician window opens.
  3. Enter the Individual NPI number.
  4. Click Save.

Then, rebill and resubmit all affected claims.
