Billing General Improvements
- Tebra was updated with the new Proprietary Laboratory Analyses (PLA) codes that go into effect April 1, 2025, and with the changes to vaccine code 90593. Visit the AMA website for more general information about the PLA Codes and Category I Immunization Codes.
Billing Resolved Issues
- Fixed an issue where paper patient statements were not being sent
- Fixed an issue where Patient Collect (Stripe) customers received an error message when attempting to add a new card on file
- Fixed an issue where users received an error message when clicking on the totals links of the Key Indicators Summary Beta report

Patient Chart Messages
Patient chart messages streamlines communication by centralizing messages in the patient's profile, boosting healthcare delivery and administrative efficiency, as well as, ensuring timely and consistent patient interactions, increasing satisfaction and strengthening relationships.
Important Note: Before enabling patient chart messages, ensure it does not violate any of your practice's privacy standards. Once enabled, all practice users can view any patient's complete message history from within their chart. This includes all text messages, emails, staff, and secure patient portal messages.
Feature will be available by the end of March 2025.
Enable Chart Messages
System Administrators can enable Chart Messages for all practice users to view patient's complete message history from within their chart.
Enable Chart Messages from the Practice Settings:
- Hover over the User icon and click on Practice Settings. The Practice Settings page opens.
- Click Clinical. Additional setting options expand.
- Click Chart Messages. The Patient Messages Visible on Chart page opens.
- By default, the toggle is off. Click the toggle On. The confirmation message pop-up window opens.
Important Note: Before enabling, ensure it does not violate any of your practice's privacy standards. Once enabled, all practice users can view any patient's complete message history from within their chart. This includes all text messages, emails, staff, and secure patient portal messages.
- Click Activate to confirm. Log out and back into the web application to view patient messages on the patient's chart.

- Enter the first 2–3 letters of the patient's name or date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy) in the top navigation bar search box.
- Click to select the patient from the auto-populated results. The patient's Facesheet page opens.
- Click Messages. The Chart Messages are turned off pop-up window opens.
- Click Activate Now. A confirmation message pop-up window opens.

Navigate Patient Message History
- Enter the first 2–3 letters of the patient's name or date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy) in the top navigation bar search box.
- Click to select the patient from the auto-populated results. The patient's Facesheet page opens.
Note: Patient chart messages are available when viewing the Facesheet, Notes, Labs/Studies, Flowsheets, and Account sections of the patient chart.
- Click Messages. The Message History for the patient displays.
Note: If Chart Messages is not enabled, a Chart Messages are turned off message displays with the Activate option for System Administrators and for all other users to contact their System Administrator.
- New Message: Click to send a new message to staff member(s) or the patient.
- Click a message to view the message details.
Note:
- Replies to messages are limited to conversation participants only.
- The message preview displays the most recent message.
- Messages with multiple participants in the conversation are grouped into one thread with the newest message at the bottom.
- See All: If the participant names are too long to display in the message list and/or message preview, click See All to view them.
- If applicable, enter a reply to the message. Then, click Send Message to send the reply.
Note: Do not include PHI in replies to the patient's emails or text messages as these methods are non-secure. Only replies to patient portal messages can include sensitive information.
