Prepare Patient Statements

​Review, correct and settle claims as necessary to prepare patient statements as part of your monthly closing activities.

Note: If you have not already done so, configure the Patient Statement Optionsand if your remit-to address is a P.O. Box, there are two additional steps to complete when configuring the settings. 

Prepare Patient Statements

  1. On the top menu bar, click Encounters > Track Claim Status. The Find Claim window opens.

  2. Click the drop-down arrow of the claim Status filter and select Ready for patient statements
  3. Click Find Now. Claims with a Status of Ready for patient statements is listed.
  4. Click the Balance column header. The claims list is sorted by balance amount.

  1. Review, correct and settle claims as necessary:
    • To settle claims with a zero or low balance:
      1. Click once to select the claim. The claim is highlighted.
      2. Right click and select Settle. The bottom Transaction panel opens.
      3. Enter Notes as necessary then click Apply. The claim is settled and removed from the list. Repeat this step as needed to settle additional claims. 
      4. Click Cancel when all desired claims have been settled. The bottom Transaction panel closes.
    • To review and correct the remaining claims: Double click on the claim to open. Once the Edit Claim window opens, review the claim and make any necessary changes then click Save when finished. The Find Claim window reopens. Repeat as needed for additional claims. 

Once all claims are reviewed, corrected or settled as necessary, the patient statements are prepared and ready to send
