Restrict Charts: Auto-Assign Clinical Admin

Restricted Charts allow staff the option and control to restrict sensitive areas of a patient’s chart. With this feature enabled, System Administrator can choose which level of privacy to enable and can now automatically assign Clinical Administrators access to all restricted charts by default.

A Clinical Administrator is a System Administrator with a "Provider" or "Clinical Assistant" role in User Settings.

Enable Automatically Assign Clinical Admins
  1. Access Chart Access Settings.
  2. Click to select "Enable chart access restrictions".
  3. Click to select which restriction level to enable:
    • Restrict access to clinical notes only: Select this option to allow restrictions for a patient's clinical notes.
    • Restrict access to clinical data: Select this option to allow restrictions for all clinical data (e.g., vitals, medication, etc) in the patient's chart.
  4. Click to select "Automatically add clinical admins to all restricted charts".
Note: If Chart Access was previously enabled, select this option to automatically assign Clinical Admins to previously restricted charts and future restricted charts.
  5. Click Save. The Enable Chart Restrictions pop-up window opens.
  6. Click Enable to confirm. Chart Access is now enabled for the practice. A System Administrator, Provider, or Office Staff can now manually restrict a patient chart and assign clinical staff member(s) to access the restricted area.
