Answers to the most common AI Message Tagging questions.

Question Answer
Is AI message tagging secure? Yes. AI Message Tagging is built with HIPAA and HITRUST compliance to deliver clarity and efficiency without compromising trust or control.
How do I enable AI Message Tagging? Review Enable or Disable AI Message Tagging to learn more.
Why do I not have the AI Message Tagging option in practice settings? This feature is only available for Application to Person (A2P) approved practices and is not available for all customers.
How quickly are messages tagged by AI? The messages are tagged by the AI as the messages are coming in.
Which messages will be tagged? All new incoming and outgoing messages will be tagged. This includes secure Patient Portal messages, SMS, email, staff, and sent messages.
How does the AI determine which tags to apply to the message? Review AI Message Tagging: Tag Definition to learn how the AI determines which tags are applicable to the message.
Can I create new tags to customize it for my practice? No. Standard tags cannot be customized at this time.
I have AI Messaging Tagging enabled, why do some messages not have tags? There are a few reasons why tags are not available:
  • The AI was unable to determine which standard tag applies to the message.
  • AI Messaging Tagging was not enabled when the message was sent or received.

If applicable, the practice can manually add tags to the messages without tags.

Can I add more than three tags to a message? No. Messages can only have up to three tags per conversation.
Are the tags in order of importance? No. The tags are ordered from oldest (left) to newest (right).
Will tags associated with a message always stay the same? No. If the context of the message changes, the oldest tag will be removed and a new tag will be added.
How come all my older messages are not tagged? The AI will only tag new incoming or sent messages after the feature is enabled. Previous messages will not be retroactively tagged. If applicable, tags can be added manually to the message.
What happens if I disable AI Message Tagging after I enable it? When the feature is disabled:
  • Incoming messages and outgoing messages will not be tagged
  • Existing tags will be removed from messages
  • The Tag drop-down option will be removed

If the feature is enabled at a later date:

  • Previously tagged messages will display tags
  • Only new incoming or sent messages will be tagged
  • Messages received or sent when AI Message Tagging was disabled will not be tagged by the AI
My practice does not need message tagging, how do I turn off the feature? The practice can disable AI Message Tagging. Current tags will not be removed from messages. If applicable, the practice can manually remove them.
